FAQs
I’m not sure I need a financial planner yet — when’s the right time to start?
If you’re a founder, the right time is earlier than you think. Most of the clients we work with come to us with a simple thought: “I should probably sort out my finances.” You don’t need to have everything figured out — that’s what we’re here for. The earlier we start, the more impact we can have. Even if you’re not ready to become a full client right now, just start the conversation. A quick chat can give you clarity, direction, and a sense of what’s possible.
What kind of founders do you work with?
We specialise in working with founders of businesses between £1m–£20m in value, often in creative or service-based industries — music, TV, media, design, fashion, events, and beyond. Whether you’re scaling, preparing for a sale, or thinking about life after exit, we help you build personal wealth alongside your business journey.
I already have an accountant — do I still need you?
Yes — and we often work alongside your accountant. Generally speaking, accountants look backwards (tax returns, financial records), whereas we help you look forwards. Think of us as your strategic financial partner — focused on your future financial freedom.
Is my money safe?
Yes. As your financial planning partner, we’re here to guide and advise — never to take control. We’ll never move, invest or make changes to your money without your full understanding and permission. You always stay in control. Our role is to help you make confident decisions and ensure your money is working in service of your goals — not ours. Trust, transparency, and long-term partnership are at the heart of everything we do.
How long does the process take?
Most clients go from initial call to full implementation within 6-12 weeks. But it moves at your pace. We take time to understand your business, your goals, and your personal situation before putting any recommendations into action. This is a process designed to move at a pace that suits you and your business.
How much wealth do I need to use your service?
We typically work with founders who have built businesses valued between £1m and £20m, and who either already have personal investable assets or are looking to build them. That said, it’s not just about what you have now — it’s about where you’re headed. If you’re serious about turning business success into personal financial freedom, we’re happy to talk.
How much information do I need to disclose?
We don’t need your full life story — just the parts that matter to your financial future. That includes an overview of your business, personal finances, goals, and priorities. Everything you share is treated with complete confidence. The more open you are, the more value we can deliver.
Will you just sell me investment products?
Absolutely not. We’re completely independent and have no ties to any products or providers. We don’t earn commissions or push financial products. Our only priority is helping you make smart, long-term decisions — for your business and your life.
How much does it cost to work with you?
We charge nothing to build your financial plan. Our implementation and ongoing advice fees are fair, transparent and significantly below industry average. For most clients, total costs — including platform and fund fees — are around 1% per year.
You can find more detail on our Fees page.
What if I’ve left it late?
You’re not alone — many founders only start thinking seriously about personal finances around the time they’re preparing for a sale. We’ll help you take stock, avoid costly mistakes, and build a clear plan for what’s next. It’s never too late to take control.
What happens after I sell my business?
That’s a big one — and one we help with all the time. A liquidity event can be overwhelming, and without a plan, it’s easy to make expensive or emotionally driven decisions. We’ll help you transition smoothly into this next chapter, with clarity, confidence, and a strategy that works for your life.
Why no fees for plan creation?
Our pricing model is designed to remove the barriers that stop people from getting the advice they need.
We charge £0 to build your financial plan. Why? Because we’ve seen what happens when people are put off by fees. They delay, they avoid, and this friction could damage your future – and we want no part of it. We believe nobody should miss out on life-changing advice due to cost.
How do you differ from private banks?
We’ve worked with all the major global private banks during our time at Vanguard — so we know exactly how they operate. When we built &together, we set out to design something better.
Here’s how we’re different:
- Full financial planning, not just investments — we connect your life, business and money in one joined-up plan.
- Truly independent advice — we search the whole market, not just in-house products.
- Simple, disciplined investing — we focus on strategies that work, not complexity for its own sake.
- Low, transparent fees — so more of your money works for you, not your adviser.
- Owner-led, founder-focused — you get advisers who’ve lived your challenges and are invested in your success.
If you’re speaking to a private bank, ask them how they stack up in each of these areas.
Banks are designed to serve the bank. We are designed to serve you.
What about crypto/private equity?
We exclude both – our view is that these asset classes are too speculative for core wealth. Data shows they destroy more value than they create.
